Wow, my favorite month has come and gone! Just like that! I am taking this summer to slow down and that means blogging and social media have kinda fallen to the wayside. I'm totally okay with that though!
I finished the school year with a bang! Each day was filled with a different theme- we had Lemonade Day, Camping Day, Balloons and Bubbles Day, and Hollywood Day, where we had an awards ceremony for each of the kids. I loved making their awards and being able to share some encouraging words about them in front of their families. I want each student to feel so treasured and I love that I get the opportunity to make sure they know that they are LOVED.
Finally, the day I had been waiting for come-- teacher's last day! Our school building is being demolished this summer and we're moving into a brand new building right next door. So, we had to do a super deep clean of the school building to make sure we got all our stuff out before the building is taken down. Thankful to my awesome co-workers, mom and brothers for helping me clean the classroom out!
Since the end of the school year, I have spent most of my days, poolside. Once a week, my niece, nephew and sister-in-law come to the pool with me and we have a blast.
I had a birthday! I spent the day with my husband, going to our favorite bakery and then going to the spa. We ended the night with a party with my family, complete with a Bailey cake and Bailey themed drinks.
My favorite birthday present was this painting that my mom did of Bailey. Oh em gee, y'all. Isn't this gorgeous?
Finally, I got a new car! For the past 4 years, I've been driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla. It was free and it was my grandmother's car and it had under 100,000 miles on it when I got it. I don't really care about cars or whether I have the latest and greatest. But when my dad gifted me his Toyota Camry...I was super pumped. It was so generous of him and I couldn't believe it. I felt like I was 16 again. Going from having a super old car to a much newer one is incredible. I keep it super clean and park it away from all the other cars in the parking lot so it doesn't get scratched. I know, I know.
