Happy New Year, y'all! How's it going so far? I hope you're hanging in there and ready for a fresh start...I know I am. 2016 was a rough year for me, and I am SO ready to make 2017 my best year.
I love making resolutions and setting goals, but sticking with them all year can be really tough. I've failed at following through with my goals for so many years...but not this year. This year I am ready to SLAY my goals. This year, I'm trying to take total control of my health by eating healthy, reducing the amount of waste I produce, save as much money as possible and spend less time on my phone. I'm gonna do it.
And so are you. Here's how to SLAY it this year, girl.
First, it's important to check in. You gotta know how you're doing to figure out where you want to go and how. Sit down and take a few moments to reflect. Look at the different parts of your life-- finances, relationships, career, spiritual, relationships, home, mental health-- where are you at, on a scale from 1 to 5?
I think this is SO important that I actually have a gift for you! I made you a Check In Sheet for 2017. It has all the different sections with a scale from 1 to 5, where you can rate where you're at. From there, you can figure out where you want to go so there's a space to write goals for that area of your life.
If you have a spouse, share it with them! Brandon and I did this together, and he LOVED it. He said it was really helpful for someone who struggles to slow down and reflect.
Next, it's so important to have accountability. You need something to look at daily to remind you what you're working towards. I like to use my Monthly Goal Sheet, which has a place to record monthly goals, and then weekly goals. There's even a spot to give yourself a check mark when you accomplished that particular goal that week-- which feels amazing! At the bottom, there's a place to reflect at the end of the month. You can write what worked for you and what didn't-- so you can be more successful next month!
Just print this baby out, fill it out and then hang it somewhere you will see it all the time. I have mine hanging with washi tape in my dining room. Brandon loved the Check In Sheet so much, he wanted to do a Monthly Goal Sheet, so his is hanging in our dining room too! We see it everyday and it is really helping up stay on track!
I like using different colored pens to help me color code my goals. For example, health related goals are in green, relationship goals are in purple, financial goals are in blue, blog goals are in yellow and personal goals are in pink! I find this to be really helpful when I glance at my Monthly Goal Sheet. G2 pens are my favorite anyways, but these G2 Metallics are all the heart eyes!
I have to say that using G2 pens make me feel like an overachiever. They last super long, they write SO smoothly and I love the color of the G2 Metallics! Now that Christmas is over and we're back to real life, it's so important to get back on track and keep being that overachiever that we all know you are. Print out these goal planning sheets, take 30 minutes to goal plan with G2 pens in hand and then raise a glass of green juice to toast yourself...cause you're awesome!
