Exploring Dingle Penninsula

I have been so excited to publish this post because this was one of my favorite places I've ever been! I cannot wait to share with you the beauty of Dingle Peninsula and inspire you to visit it for yourself!

After visiting the town of Dingle, we stopped to explore the Dingle Peninsula. Driving on the Peninsula, this was the first time that I saw sheep in Ireland! It was something I had been looking forward to and when I actually saw real sheep for the first time on the hills of green, I was so excited!

On the peninsula are the Fahan Beehive Huts. These huts are called Clochans, in Gaelic, and they aren't sure how far they date back to, but it's thought to be the 12th Century. Can you believe that?! The 12th Century! They were thought to once be homes for families, and apparently, the huts connected by tunnels to each other. Very cool to see!

We stopped on the cliffs for some sight seeing. It truly takes away your breath. You can see for miles and miles, and you feel like you're above the clouds. The beaches, the water, the rocky cliffs, the islands...it wasn't what I was expecting of Ireland but it was an amazing surprise.

I have to say hands down that without a shadow of a doubt or any hesitation, the Dingle Peninsula is the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The water was different shades of blue, the sand was white beneath my toes, and the hills of green rolled in the background. It felt a little like Heaven.

Next, onto my favorite part! I have to admit that I wasn't expecting beaches while I was in Ireland, but when we pulled up to Coumeenole Beach, I was surprised at how gorgeous it was! Hidden away in the rocks was this adorable little beach. It wasn't very big but the sand was tan and golden, the water was cold but a clear blue. And the view? Well, you can't beat it.

I feel like I've been able to go a few places and see a few things in my lifetime, but I have to say that the Dingle Peninsula is my favorite place I have ever visited. The natural beauty here is unlike nothing I've ever experienced before and it was such a nice surprise, because I wasn't expecting beaches in Ireland! If you ever get the chance, you MUST make the trip west to Dingle and Coumeenole Beach!

Is grá liom Éire!
